Thanks so much for sticking around to help a clueless newbie and thanks for not treating me as such even if it was outwardly noticeable. These wonderful people consist of Maxximou5 (), asherkin (), and Powerlord (). Since this is no longer an issue I can say a complete list of the people who have my thanks for helping me. Removing bots and/or running at a tickrate of 64 fixes this. Looking at top (the task manager for Linux), I can see that although there is only about 15-25 percent total CPU usage, the CS:GO server process is using up at least 80% of its single-threaded process at all times when bots fill the server.

It can run a 128-tick CS:GO server okay but bots come close to the straw that broke the camel's back. I now run my server on an HP Pavilion Elite e9120f () which isn't the top of the line or meant for server use but can support my current use just fine. Just as I thought, you don't have sse3, which is required.

The cause of the crash seems to be the lack of a 64 bit architecture as well as SSE3 and PNE instruction sets. I'll see if I can find out exactly what processor make and model I'm using as well as look around for a way to launch the CS:GO server without requiring SSE3 to be used. So it seems unlikely that the processor inside the server supports the SSE3 instruction set. Looking back at the specifications for the Poweredge 4600 the "year" column (I'm guessing year of release) is 2003. However, this article also states "Intel introduced SSE3 in early 2004". Also, according to this () article, SSE3 is the third iteration of the SSE instruction set for the IA-32 (x86) architecture. Here () are some specs for the server (under "generation 6" press show and then scroll down until you see model 4600). It is a Dell Poweredge 4600 with a Xeon processor inside (or there should be except some of the hardware is non-default). I have found some information about the server I'm using and am currently scouting around to see if I can find exactly what type of Xeon processor the server uses. Unfortunately the CPU on the server is 64 bit while the motherboard only supports 32 bit and therefore not all of the processing power can be taken advantage of. It is assigned (no preallocation/reservation) 2 out of the 4 cores in the server. This also could be hardware related, do a: cat /proc/cpuinfo

Server will auto-restart if there is a crash. The server then gives the message about 10 seconds to restart and fails again.

I have been able to run a TF2 server perfectly fine on this machine however a fresh install following the guide from here () results in an error when launching the game. Hi all! I tried installing a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive dedicated server on a CentOS 6.6 virtual machine.
